My ten-minute writing is to be based on presents of five stickers representing a snowman, green tree, gingerbread looking cookie, a snowflake and a Santa Claus with words “tell a story about one or each of these.”
I saw the Santa Claus and thought of my first ever Santa Claus parade and we all sang:
OH, YOU BETTER WATCH OUT, YOU’D BETTER NOT CRY
YOU’D BETTER NOT SHOUT I’M TELLING YOU WHY
SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN.
The next one I saw was:
O CHRISTMAS TREE, O CHRISTMAS TREE
YOUR LEAVES ARE SO UNCHANGING!
And when I saw the snowman:
FROSTY THE SNOWMAN WAS A JOLLY HAPPY SOUL
WITH A CORNCOB PIPE AND A BUTTON NOSE AND TWO EYES MADE OUT OF COAL!
When I looked at the snowflake:
I’M DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS came to mind.
We now have a dilemma. I don’t know a song about a gingerbread person. I’ve never eaten gingerbread. I’ve never made a gingerbread house. I guess I could make up a song about this little ginger babe.
THIS LITTLE GINGER BABE
HAS TWO EYES AND A BIG SMILE
TWO ARMS AND TWO LEGS
AND CAN WALK AWHILE
LOOKING SO CONTENT
HAPPY AS CAN BE
AND IS COMING HOME
TO DECORATE MY TREE
THIS LITTLE GINGER BABE
TWO EYES AND A BIG SMILE
ITS ON IT’S WAY HOME
THANKS TO PATTY AND ME!
