I had an apricot tree in Saskatoon
Whether you believe it or not
Looked out my living room window one day
And I thought I was going nuts.
—
I was sitting there in my rocking chair
Staring at the tree
Those little orange oblong globes
Looked like apricots to me
I couldn’t believe I couldn’t believe I couldn’t believe my eyes
The very first thing that day I did I bet you can surmise
I walked right out to my front yard; stared right into that tree
It was a perfect apricot; and I ate it; juicy as can be
—
I’ve learned a lot of things in this life
More as times goes on
Don’t believe everything you hear
Yet you can believe this song
I had an apricot tree in my front yard
Yes here in Saskatoon
We can grow them here
We could freeze them too
Have them morning, night and noon.
