I had a dream the other night
I was crossing the bridge to the other side
It was dark and stormy; I was half way across
There was no rail on the river side
—
I wasn’t alone, I had a big board
It got in the way of the people beside
A gentle guy from behind walked by me
I waited, others went by as I stepped aside
—
Do I let it go – is it too dangerous to me?
Or the others of all races walking by?
I’d let it go if hurt others or me
Right now, it’s important for me I decide
—
When I went to lift it, the gentle guy was there
He picked up his end; ready to share
I took my end; surprise awaited me
A holder was there and together we shared
—
AND THAT WAS THE END OF THE DREAM
